In-Home Nursing Support for Oncology Care

Private, Registered Nurse–led care delivered at home for individuals navigating cancer treatment, recovery, and symptom management.

Care That Extends Beyond Appointments

Cancer care does not end when a clinic visit is over. Many individuals and families require skilled nursing support between treatments at home, where symptoms are felt most acutely and recovery truly takes place.

Vivara provides private, in-home nursing care designed to support patients through treatment, recovery, and periods of medical vulnerability, offering continuity, presence, and clinical expertise beyond the hospital setting.

When In-Home Oncology Nursing Is Helpful

In-home oncology nursing support may be helpful during periods when care extends beyond clinic visits or hospital settings. Many individuals and families find value in additional nursing presence at home during active treatment, recovery, or times of increased symptom burden.

  • Our services are often requested:

    • During active cancer treatment

    • In the days or weeks following treatment

    • Between scheduled oncology appointments

    • When symptoms or side effects feel difficult to manage at home

    • When families would benefit from skilled nursing support and reassurance

Care is always individualized and based on current needs.

Our Role in Your Care

Vivara provides private, Registered Nurse–led care delivered in the comfort of your home. Our role is to extend clinical support beyond traditional outpatient settings, offering continuity, observation, education, and reassurance between appointments.

We work collaboratively, not independently, alongside existing oncology teams and healthcare providers. Our nurses do not replace primary or specialist care, but rather support individuals and families during periods that are often unmonitored or rushed within the healthcare system.

What we support

In-home oncology nursing care may include:

  • Clinical nursing assessments and symptom monitoring

  • Medication education and support

  • Post-treatment recovery observation

  • Support related to fatigue, pain, and treatment side effects

  • Education for patients and family members

  • Coordination and communication support with outpatient providers

Care plans are adapted as needs change and may evolve over time.

A Thoughtful, Nurse-Led Approach

All oncology care at Vivara is provided by experienced Registered Nurses who value professionalism, discretion, and presence. We approach care with intention — allowing time for assessment, education, and thoughtful support rather than rushed interactions.

Our model prioritizes:

  • Continuity of care

  • Respect for individual experiences

  • Clear communication

  • Clinical expertise delivered with calm and compassion

Care is offered to a limited number of clients to ensure depth and quality of support.

  • The care we received through Vivara filled a gap we didn’t realize was missing. Between oncology appointments, having a Registered Nurse check in, assess symptoms, and answer questions helped us feel supported rather than alone. The continuity of care made a meaningful difference for our family.
