Hi, I’m Teresa Loughlin
L.P.N.
⚲ CALGARY & Okotoks
As a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with over 21 years of diverse healthcare experience, I bring a unique combination of clinical expertise, leadership, education, and a lifelong passion for caring for children and families. My nursing background includes specialized experience supporting infants, children, and individuals with complex medical and developmental needs, with a strong focus on compassionate, family-centered care.
Beyond my nursing career, I owned and operated a successful daycare and out-of-school care program for 19 years, caring for children from infancy through 12 years of age.
This experience provided me with extensive hands-on knowledge of infant development, newborn care, feeding support, sleep routines, safety, and family education. It also strengthened my ability to build trusting relationships with parents while creating nurturing, supportive environments where children can thrive.
I am also a proud mother of two adult daughters and a devoted grandmother known affectionately as "GiGi" by my two grandsons. My personal experience caring for my own family, including supporting my oldest daughter through her postpartum journeys and helping care for my grandchildren( both were premature), has deepened my understanding of the physical, emotional, and practical support that new mothers and families need during the newborn period.
Throughout my nursing career, I have worked with vulnerable populations across a variety of healthcare settings, including Children with Special Needs, Neuro Rehabilitation, Addictions & Mental Health, and Long-Term Care. As a former Nursing Instructor, I have also mentored and educated healthcare professionals, bringing strong communication skills, clinical judgment, and a commitment to excellence in care.
I am passionate about supporting families during one of life's most meaningful transitions. My goal is to provide safe, compassionate, evidence-informed postpartum and newborn care that promotes maternal recovery, newborn well-being, and parental confidence, while ensuring families feel supported, respected, and cared for every step of the way.
